About Blackbird Market
and information for stallholders!
Up and coming contemporary fashion and jewellery design, vintage clothing, live music, DJs and delicious food and drink - all on a beautiful afternoon.
In the hub of all things creative and fashionable, Melbourne's Fitzroy, nests Blackbird Market - a monthly indoor market held at the trendy Worker's Club on the corner of Brunswick and Gertrude streets.
Not only a place for shopping, Blackbird Market is also home to live bands, DJ sets, artist installations and a delicious food and drink menu. Past performers have included the likes of British India, Skye Harbour, Love Connection, The Ravenous, The Bon Scotts and plenty of other amazing local talents.
Blackbird Market is held the second Saturday of every month from 11am to 4pm.
Thanks to Chase Burns and Spook Mag for this charming little synopsis of what Blackbird is all about!
Stallholder Information
If you're a designer, seller or artist looking for exposure and an opportunity to sell your wares, then this is the right place for you!
Blackbird Market is the perfect way to make some money, have some fun and get your stuff out there!
Please note: we are not a trash and treasure market. We're happy to sell pre-loved clothing and shoes, so long as they are vintage or designer, and in beautiful condition. We are not however a junk market. It's paramount to Blackbird Market that we maintain a quality standard.
Stallholders are also UNABLE to sell any food or beverage.
Stall Sizes & Costs
Blackbird is all about creating a cosy, busy and exciting atmosphere! We have hundreds of patrons who come through every market day making it one of the most enjoyable markets Melbourne has to offer. We want it to be a fun experience for all, whether you're a stallholder, customer or performer and we, the Blackbird Team, try to ensure we get to meet each and every one of you to say hi!
Stall size at Blackbird is a little small in comparison to other (usually outdoor) markets. We are space restricted due to the "rabbit warren" style of the venue, but please don't let that put you off - we more than make up for it with everything else on offer and it just means you can get creative with the way you display your products.
The Workers Club has four rooms and we fill all of them except one (which is left as an eating/drinking area for market patrons). It is a charming and atmospheric venue with lots of nooks and crannies and lovely aesthetics.
It is really important that you don't exceed your allocated space because we want it to be fair to all the other stallholders. Thanks in advance, we can't wait to meet you and hope you'll become one of our regulars! =)

Stall Setup Information
A Handy Hints PDF is issued a week prior to market day with all of the information you need however a few things now:
Set-up will happen one hour prior to the doors being opened to the public. This means you should try and be as organised as possible!
Set-up begins at 10AM and is a bit of a mad rush - it is a good idea to have a friend with you to help, and make sure all of your items are well-packed in an organised manner to make unloading easier. Stall positions are first come, first served. The Worker's Club has several different rooms and alcoves to choose from.
You must provide your own dress rack and table.
Make sure you remember to bring everything you need with you; coathangers, bags, swing tags, business cards, etc. A float of change is also recommended. Fold out tables will make everyone's lives a bit easier too!
Other handy things to have with you include pens, paper and stickytape.
